 NICOSIA - Tourism revenue in August was a record €312.1m.
At 16.9% this is the biggest annual increase in 13 months according to data released by the Statistical Service.
Based on the results of the Passenger Survey, revenue from tourism in August 2012 amounted to €312.1m compared to €267m in the corresponding month last year, an increase of 16.9%.
For the period January - August 2012 revenue from tourism is estimated at €1.321,9m compared to €1.218,4m in the corresponding period of 2011, an increase of 8.5%.
The increase in revenue in August 2012 is higher than in July 2011 when revenues increased by 18.8%.
The second highest revenue from tourism was in August 2007 and was €306m.
