Good Friday
OTAKUBUU PARTY
In and around CoCo Lounge Bar, Emporiki Stoa, Nicosia, 7.30pm. Display of the works of the ten finalists in the ‘Pray for Japan’ Art Competition and awarding of top three winners after the works are viewed by judges from the local art community. The works were created in response to the January visit to Cyprus by 25 Japanese children from the areas affected by the 2011 disaster. The music at tonight’s event will be provided by four local DJs combining western music with Japanese pop, rock, metal and anime and gaming music. There will also be a cosplay costume competition for which prizes will be awarded to the three best efforts. Entrance is €4 for those in costume and €5 for those who are not. All visitors will receive a complimentary gift.
Once the exhibition is completed all of the submitted works will be posted (with the cooperation of the Women’s Federation for World Peace) to Japan, as a collective message of thanks and encouragement to the 25 brave children hosted in Cyprus earlier in the year.
