Take a trip 17kms south-west of Nicosia to Politiko village. Here you will find the ruins of  Tamassos an ancient and booming city-kingdom. Its wealth was based on its copper mines. Excavations have brought to light the Royal Tombs and copper workshops associated with Aphrodite-Astarte.
