Mavromatis Books & Stationery Ltd is Cyprus’s largest bookshop chain with nine bookshops all in all: six are located in Nicosia, and one each in Limassol, Larnaca and Paphos. Mavromatis engages both in retail and wholesale trading with a substantial number of clients. The book chain specializes in Greek and English books as well as in educational books, school accessories, stationery, bags, and other educational supplies. Mavromatis bookstore was established in Nicosia in 1975 by the founder and family patriarch Mr. Mavromatis. After twelve years of enjoying success with his bookstore, Mr. Mavromatis founded the company Mavromatis Books & Stationery Ltd.
In 1989 his daughter joined the company as a Director. Eleven years later, in 2000, the founder’s eldest son joined Mavromatis and later became one of the managerial executives. Since its foundation, Mavromatis’ expansion has stretched island-wide into the other major cities. Restructuring and acquisitions also followed in an effort to provide better wholesale services to its customers.
